Viewpoint Services has worked with the homeless population in Richmond, VA and the surrounding areas since 2018. Through our outreach efforts, we discovered that there is a severe lack of housing options for individuals with limited income who may also be dealing with mental health or substance abuse diagnoses. In 2022, Viewpoint Services was able to secure our first transitional home to meet the need of individuals in our programs. Viewpoint Services now offers transitional housing and case management services to individuals coming out of homelessness. In just the last 2 months of 2022, we successfully assisted 6 individuals come out of homelessness and secure long term housing. This year, we plan to launch at least 3 more transitional homes in the Richmond area. Our program provides safe, clean, and comfortable housing options that are affordable to most. We have short term scholarships available for individuals that lack resources while they work to secure income. Through our case management services, individuals are linked with mental health and substance abuse treatment and supports, primary care doctors, dentists, and other professionals and resources as needed. In addition, we assist individuals with applying for benefits (Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, etc.). Your support towards these efforts is very much appreciated by us and the individuals we serve.
